Just seven months after the unforgiving earthquake on January 12, 2010 that claimed 200,000 lives and left 300,000 homeless and jobless, REBUILD Globally (RG) opened its training center in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. .Since 1999 forty-seven newborns have been left in locations ranging from dumpsters and bathrooms to palmetto bushes. Twenty-seven of these infants died before anyone could help them. In those same eleven years 185 newborns have been saved from that tragic end by way of the state of Florida’s Safe Haven Law.
